Edward Hoare (environmentalist)

Edward Hoare (born 1949) of Hoare's Bank is an English philanthropist and environmentalist.

Early life

Born at Stourhead in Wiltshire he left home as a young man, living in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from 1968–1971, where he worked in a bank. He returned home and took training as a Chartered Accountant from 1972-1976. In 1977, he embarked on a trip around the world during which he visited the Royal Chitwan National Park in Nepal. This led to his interest in environmental issues and his plans to set up International Trust for Nature Conservation.

Career

Upon returning home once again, he joined the family bank and became a "Banker's Agent". He is a member of the Hoare's Bank Family Forum which distributes funds from "The Golden Bottle Trust", formed in the mid 1980s and continuing the Hoare family tradition of giving to good causes since the early 18th century.

He has also designed relational databases, free format search mechanisms, risk management systems and GPS interactive guide technology.

He is an amateur ornithologist and wildlife gardener and is a Vice President of conservation charity.[1][2]

Landmarks

Edward hoare is a 10th generation member (now retired) of an independent family business founded in 1672 which has Long-term (nearly 300 years) family tradition of supporting good causes (now via the Golden Bottle Trust.) Edward decided to learn Portuguese at the age of 17, left home and lived in Brazil for 3 years working in a bank before training as an accountant in the early 70s. Later on in the 70's Edward Helped set up an environment-related charity.This then led to the set up of a campaign for the introduction of microfinance in schools in the mid/ late 00's using a newly designed type of philanthropic attitude profiling a system called Care4most In 2010 Edward helped establish one of the first United Nations Millennium Development Goal (MDG) e-learning games [1].

Designs

During the mid 00's Edward designed and implemented his first website (for a new type of family tree) developing computer skills and technological know-how that led to the designing of Care4most - a new type of philanthropic attitude profiling system.
